Karelaine was a co-instructor for the Master's-level course, Nature as a Model, at the John T. Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies within the College of Environmental Design at Cal Poly Pomona University.
The course was created for students to examine and analyze living systems as a model for regenerative strategy and design. The class explored the application of regenerative principles and concepts, including society and culture, business and economics, circular systems, environmental quantitative analyses, and real-world regenerative design projects.

Select example slides highlight some of the class topics including water conservation and harvesting, ecosystems and ecology, and the intersection of the urban and natural environments as they relate to regeneration, resilience, and restoration.
